my ews certificate issued on Oct 2025 is it valid for till oct2026? because i seen everywhere people are saying it is valid for the date of issue pls help

The confusion exists because different states and different recruitment/admission authorities follow slightly different interpretations .

For most admissions and government recruitments, an EWS certificate is treated as valid for the financial year , not necessarily for 12 months from the date of issue. Official government clarifications state that the certificate is linked to the relevant financial year for which income is assessed.

So, if your EWS certificate was issued in October 2025 , many authorities would consider it valid only up to 31 March 2026 , after which a fresh EWS certificate for the next financial year may be required.

However, some institutions and exam authorities specifically accept certificates that are one year old from the date of issue , which is why you see people saying it is valid until October 2026.

If you're applying for counselling, admissions, or a government job in 2026, it is safest to obtain a fresh EWS certificate for the current financial year rather than relying on the October 2025 certificate. That avoids any risk during document verification.
