my father income is less than 8 lakh and also we don't own 5 acres of land but plot area and flat area are little more than prescribed.I have 1 elder unmarried brother..if plot is divided and registered separately.Can I apply for EWS then?Also they say family mean me and parents and sibling under 18

Hello Aspirant, For getting EWS certificate you caste must belong to general category and you must satisfy these criteria's like
- Candidate's annual family income must be less than Rs 8 lakhs per annum.
- His family must not own more than 5 acres of agriculture land.
- The residential flat area should be below 1000 sq ft.
- The residential plot's area should be below 100 square yards if in a notified municipality sector.
- The residential plot's area should be below 200 square yards if in a non-notified municipality sector.
If someone qualifies all these criteria's then he/she can get EWS certificate.if you have less than 5 acres of land anyhow then you can get EWS certificate, more over the officers don't sees this much than, just they ask for Income certificate mostly, very less of them verifies all the things.
