my fnd got 6407 rank in mains in st category. which nit and which branch will he get

Considering the cut off in 2019 with the given rank it is very difficult to get seat in NITs. He might get seat in GFTIs like Institute of Technology, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya Bilaspur, (C.G.) in Industrial and Production Engineering the cut off was 6217 for ST Category and National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Sonepat, Haryana in Food Technology and Management the cut off for ST category was 6309. But the chances are low because cut off rank is less than the rank secured in 2020. However, cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease depending on number of candidates qualified, difficulty of exam and number of seats available etc.

As your friend has secured 6407 rank in jee mains from st category, then it is impossible for him to get any seat in nits in any branch if he belongs from other state.

But if your friend has home state quota of some nits then your friend can easily get a seat in nit applying home state quota in :-

Nit Meghalaya ( civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering)

Nit manipur (civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering)

Nit mizoram ( civil engineering)

Nit durgapur ( civil engineering, electrical engineering)

Nit arunachal pradesh ( civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering)

Nit puducherry (electrical and electronics engineering)

Nit Nagaland (civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering)

Nit goa (computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering)

Nit calicut (civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering)

Nit kurukshetra ( civil engineering, electrical engineering)

Nit trichy (civil engineering, electrical and electronics engineering)


But from other state quota, it is not possible to get any seat in any branch of any nits not even the lower ones.
