Dear Muskan,
I understand this answer comes a little late but if you haven’t gone ahead with taking a seat of your choice this year, then hopefully this information will be handy to you or other candidates for NEET 2018 admissions.
So as per your question, you basically wish to know the required cut offs for admissions as an Unreserved candidates to Government Quota MBBS seats in Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and other private medical colleges in Punjab.
I am providing you a table below which contains the last marks at which Unreserved candidates secured admissions to MBBS courses in the various private medical colleges of Punjab through NEET 2017.
|
Name of Private Medical College |
NEET 2017 Government Quota Seat Cutoff (out of 720) |
NEET 2017 Management Quota Seat Cutoff (out of 720) |
|
Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) |
520 |
487 |
|
Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana |
578 |
523 |
|
Christian Medical College, Ludhiana |
- |
521 |
|
Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Amritsar |
523 |
444 |
|
Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bathinda |
- |
440 |
So as you can see from the above table, a score of 471 would have been insufficient to secure a Government Quota seat in any of Punjab’s private medical colleges. You would however have stood a chance to take admissions in the Management Quota seats at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Amritsar and Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bathinda.
Also, you would have needed a score of 540 or above to secure a seat in any of Punjab’s government medical colleges.
If you are appearing for NEET 2018, I would recommend you set any of the above mentioned scores as your minimum target depending on the college and seat you wish to secure.
Hope this helps. All the best!
Your expected Rank based on your score will be ranging from 14100-14400 (as per previous year cutoff trend)
You have less chances in 15 % quota seats, but you can try in state level colleges.
Chances are less for govt colleges.
Good Luck.
