My percentile is 72 and I am from general category

this year the general cutoff of JEE main paper 1 will be approximate 85 percentile or more.

according to the formula, Rank = ( 100-your percentile )* total no. Of students /100,

your rank is 244,851.

At this rank it will be quit difficult to get any Government college.

so you can try for JEE main april.

Last date of form filling is 7 march.

72 percentile is a very low score

When you calculate your rank based on the January exam strength using

Rank = ( 100-your percentile )* total no. Of students /100

It comes out to be more than 2.5 lakhs.and it is predicted that in April exam it will be more than January exam( means your rank will increase more than this ).

And you know that best of januJan or April exam results will be considered for the final ranking . So you should work for the April exam and try to improve your score because with this percentile you will not be able the qualify even jee mains.and nearly all the colleges give admission on basis of jee mains.so you have to work for it

If you are asking about your possibilities in any good colleges then sorry brother in 72 percentile you can't get any good colleges as you have mentioned General category.

You can't even qualify for JEE advance .

Your rank will be around 2.5-3 lakhs(approx). So, just take my advice and keep working hard and convert this 72 percentile into 92 in upcoming JEE mains exam.
