In order to apply for IITs you should qualify JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is the minimum eligibility fo IITs. But with the JEE Mains score you can apply for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The admission proedure here is all managed by the authority named JoSAA. They conduct counselling based on rank list they prepared including only those who applied for this counselling.
The JoSAA registration starts by second week of June. If you apply for this you can proceed for the counselling.
