If you are talking about nit or IIits than ;it will be not possible to get CSE in good nits or IIITs .
He may get low ranking nits with non core branch depending your home state quota also.
Fair chances to get CSE in state government and in any good private college.

which college are you considering? I think he will not be able to get into any good engineering college with a rank of 86000.Moreover if you want your son to get into a college with CS branch,I think it's not possible . some NITs do take admission with this rank but still he won't get CS.
