The NIT's provide admission to different engineering courses on the basis of the JEE MAINS examination. The JEE MAINS examination have three subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Usually the eligibility criteria for JEE MAINS is that the student must secure 75% marks (if general or OBC and 65% for SC/ST)in the 10+2, or in the top 20 percentile in the boards.. Now for COVID scenario, the marks limit is exempted for JEE MAINS 2021. So You should keep a target of 75% in order to be safe.

Admission in NITs is completely on the basis of your rank in jee main, but yes to be eligible for admission in NITs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category or needs to be in top 20 percentile.

For only this year i. e 2021 this minimum percentage requirement of 75% - 65 % was lifted off.

Students should have passed their 10+2 standard with minimum of 75% and they should be in top 20 percentile in exam of their 12th class. There is relaxation for Sc/ST category. Students should have scored 65% in their 12th board exam if they belong from Sc/St category.
