In order to apply for NITs you have to appear for JEE Main exam.
In order to be eligible for NITs make sure you have 75% marks in your board exam or you should be in top 20percentile.
In order to get NITs you should score more then 125 marks in JEE Main in general category other state quota. Cut off marks varies according to your branches as well.

To be eligible for NITs, you will have to clear Jee main as this is the mandatory rule to be fulfilled. Also, if you wish to get seat in top NITs you score should be 230-250 for top branches like CS, ME, ECE etc and admission can be possible with or above in lower and average NITs. So plan and prepare accordingly so that you can get admission in your desired college.
