CMAT score card released by NTA contains each candidate’s section wise score, overall score, section wise percentile, overall percentile and All India Rank (AIR).

It should be noted that the CMAT Score obtained is not equivalent to the percentile. There is a slight difference between both the terminologies. The CMAT score is basically an absolute number that you have attained while the percentile is a relative term.

CMAT score is the sum of marks that were obtained by you in each section. In the CMAT score card, a candidate can find the marks obtained against each section, which is later combined to calculate an overall score out of 400.

CMAT percentile is calculated on the basis of rank of the student in comparison with the number of students who had appeared in CMAT. This indicates the percentage of candidates who have scored equal to or below your level. The CMAT percentile of a candidate can be calculated as per the formula prescribed by NTA:

100* No. of candidates with marks equal or less than you/total no. of candidates appeared

In other words, percentile indicates the number of people who have scored equal to or below you in the examination whereas the CMAT score reveals the actual score that you have obtained based on your performance.

According to this year's analysis of the CMAT result, 100 percentile has been obtained by a candidate scoring 372 marks out of 400. This reflects that 100% of candidates have obtained less than or equal to 372 marks in 2019. Further, the CMAT 2019 score cut off for 99 percentile is equivalent to 310 marks. A total of 54516 candidates appeared in the CMAT exam on January 28, 2019.
