obc rank vs general rank can anyone explain me the comparison between the general ranks and the obc ranks..??? can relation between both be simplified???

Hi there,
General rank is the rank for the common merit list, while obc rank is the category rank if anyone wants to get the benefit of reservation on the basis of the category then obc rank comes into play.
Other wise for all the candidate it is the general rank.
