For Biology, NCERT is more than sufficient, and one may easily achieve a 300+ score. For biology, you don't need to consult any more or other books. However, in order to build a solid foundation in physics and chemistry, you should use NCERT as your starting point and a few additional reference books. This will allow you to progressively advance to more challenging questions and numerical calculations. You simply need to keep practising a tonne of MCQs till you are comfortable with the chapter. You'll get an advantage over others as a result.
