Hello Aditi,
There is no direct way to get into neurology. As Neurology is a super speciality, you need to have the two basic degree to get into the super speciality. Graduation in MBBS and speciality in either general medicine or surgery.
There are several medical colleges offering MBBS, you need to write the undergraduate examination.
NEET, JIPMER, PGIMER, AIIMS, Etc.
Once you are done with your undergraduate on. You need to write another exam, which is the post graduation. Similar pattern and similar exams.
Neet comprises all the medical colleges over India except a handful which have their own institution exams.
The best University in India for neurology is NIMHANS. It has excellent technology and the level of discussion over there is amazing. NIMHANS has its own exam. In which it has about 30 question specific for neurology and another 70 of general MBBS subjects.
Goodluck Aditi.
Hope this helps.

Hi Aditi, As you said you are from Jammu & Kashmir, and want to pursue a career in neurology....I would like to tell you that if what to become a doctor and pursue neurology as a Superspecialisation..that is a Mch or DM degree ..
To become a NEUROPHYSICIAN = MBBS (5&1/2Yrs) + MD Medicine (3yrs) + DM (Neurology-3yrs)....
To become a NEUROSURGEON = MBBS (5&1/2Yrs) + MS Srgery (3yrs) + Mch (Neurology-3yrs)......
For all this first step is MBBS...and for MBBS you HAVE TO GIVE NEET....
Jammu and kashmir board of professional entrance examinations also ACCEPTS - NEET score for admission in J&K MBBS course.....
If you don't want to do MBBS but some other courses i would suggest go to the given link of NIMHANS http://www.nimhans.ac.in/...you will get a idea.....There are other courses like Bsc Neurology by some collges
Hopefully it helps
