I feel sorry to inform you that MHRD has limited the number of attempts of JEE Advanced to 2 , and that too for two consecutive years which means if you appear for the first time in the exam in (say) 2016 then you will only have a last chance in 2017 to qualify the exam.
Very good luck for your exams!

Hi Anupam,
Unfortunately, according to official JEE Advanced eligibility, you will not be eligible for JEE Advanced 2018 examination. The official eligibility criteria states that you need to have qualified 12th standard in 2017/2018 or should have appeared for 12th standard exam in 2016 but the result should have been released after June 2016. Since your result was declared in May 2016, you will not be eligible to attempt JEE Advanced examination. Clause 3 which is in regards to the number of attempts will also not be valid for you since you will not be allowed to attempt the exam.
