Definitely JEE Advanced Paper 2019 was tougher than that of 2018. It is so because of two reasons - The total marks was more and also the negative marking was greater. So, it made it a tougher paper, though the level of questions didn't vary much from last year.

This year’s jee advanced paper was easy to moderate.
For different people the paper could be of different level as per their preparation but Getting around 40% that is around 150 marks you may get a rank around 5000.
