Apart from the female quota, 15 per cent of the reservation is done for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribe (ST), and 5 per cent for Persons with Disability (PwD). IITs also have EWS and foreign quotas which are supernumerary. Rank list are seperate for reserved students. They get their open rank and reserved list rank. You can use either of them for taking admission. Lets take the same example which is mentioned in the question. Since you won’t get CSE at IITB through open rank hence you can use your obc rank. There are 110 seats in CSE branch of IITB which means 30 seats are reserved for OBC. Hence top 30 students in OBC rank list are sure to get IITB CSE.
