You should then go for CS , wher eyour potential and skills are prevailing. Coding is major part and has some cash rich opportunities by Ibternet giants if done from IITs.

You can try for Cse branch if you are capable of doing java programs.......but mechanical engineering will be also a good choice as mentioned by dinesh .....you can also go with his advise....best of luck

I should know first you are interested in mechanical or computer engineering and Java is good company who require a computer engineers not mechanical engineers

My suggestion is you to opt ME and you can do product life cycle management course, which is having high scope now, Java is included in that. If you opt this course, your payscawill be also high too.
And your practical knowledge will increase, if you opt me rather than CSE
