Should I take metallurgy in good nits and then try to promote my branch after first year I have rank 39k ?
Dear Dhruv,
Metallurgy is a vast and ancient area of study. It has good scope both in India and abroad. Some good NITs offer metallurgy along with Materials Science which has a wide scope for research. With a rank of 39K in JEE Mains, I think it is a viable idea to choose a good NIT instead of choosing a higher preferred branch like CS or EE in a lower ranked NIT. As some NITs also provide the chance for branch change, you can change your branch if you wanted to by studying hard. Good luck!
