should nails be trimmed or long nails are allowed?

There is no checking of nails. Hence, you will allowed whether your nails are trimmed or long. But make sure not to wear any rings, bracelets or any kind of spiritual band also.

Dear Prashansa, NTA hasn' t specified about nails per se. But owing to misuse of technology, speculations are bound to happen when there are long nails or nail colours of dark colours painted. So its always better to have trimmed nails wih no nail polish. While you are here, we shall also run by you the dress code policy.  NTA has released 52 page dress code policy for NEET aspirants. However, for female candidates salwar kameez, trousers are preferred clothes. Even Palazzos are allowed because they are considered as casual trousers. No t-shirts, jeans, leggings, jeggings, slacks or socks. Your clothes should be simple and light. If you are wearing trousers, you should team it up with kurta/kurti/half sleeved top with no extrinsic designs, bug buttons or embroidery. No chains ans zips hanging. Dupatta for salwar kameez is not allowed. No ornaments or jewellery of any metal like anklets, nosepims, rings, bangles, bracelets are allowed. You cannot wear high heels or shoes. Low heeled foot wear, sandals and slippers only are allowed.
