Through the NDA exam, you can enter the Indian Air Force, Indian Army or Indian Navy as a cadet for training.

After the NDA written exam and SSB interviews and aptitude tests, you can choose which force you want to join based on your merit.

Based on the result of your exam, you will receive an SSB call from one or more of the three forces, then you can choose which force you want to enter. In the Indian Army, after completing NDA training, the trainee joins the force at the rank of LIEUTENANT, in the Navy his first rank is SUB-LIEUTENANT and in the Air Force he is FLIGHT OFFICER.

And then, with time and good performance, you rise through the ranks of the force.

It will be important to note here that the physical fitness test in SSB is quite vigorous and many health problems such as color blindness make a person unsuitable for the Indian Air Force. Even things like the discrepancy in the length of the limbs; flat feet, etc. may be grounds for ineligibility to join forces.
