Sir I am preparing for CAT of 2020. But I am quite weak in Verbal Ability so how can I improve it. Plz guide me sir?

Out of the three sections , Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension is a little bit tricky. They test your Reading and understanding abilities. To improve your skill in  Reading and Comprehension one need to read the English papers especially Deccan Chronicle. Read the Editorials section in the English Newspaper. To improve your skill in verbal Ability, make sure you have read Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis. Learn Tenses and basic grammar topics.

The key to preparing for VARC in CAT is reading. So, make sure you read a lot of articles, newspaper editorials so that your mind could automatically understand the sentence formation structures and between the line details. Practise a lot of mock tests and reading comprehension paragraphs and read them thoroughly before trying to answer them. You could also refer books like:

• ‘How to Prepare for Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension for CAT’- by Arun Sharma & Meenakshi Upadhyay
• ‘Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension for the CAT’-by Nishit K Sinha
• ‘Word Power Made Easy’ – by Norman Lewis
• ‘High School English Grammar & Composition’ – by Wren & Martin
• Regularly solve the Verbal Ability questions from your study material especially on Para summary, Jumbled Paragraphs
