See there is no age limit for GATE so you are definitely eligible to apply for GATE.
Eligiblity criteria for Btech students-
- Passed a Bachelor degree (4 years after 10+2 or 3-years after Diploma in Engineering/Technology) in Engineering/ Technology or currently in the final year of the degree.
- Year of qualification must not be later than 2019.
GATE eligiblity for candidates having backlogs-
Candidates who have backlogs (arrears/ failed subjects) in any paper of the qualifying degree or have appeared in the final year/ semester examination in 2019 should do the following either
-
Submit a copy of any one of the marks sheets of the final year or
-
Have to obtain a declaration from their Principal along with the signature and seal beforehand and upload the same during the online submission of the application form.

If a candidate has passed any one of the qualifying examination as given above in 2017 or earlier then such candidates have to submit the course completion certificate/degree certificate/membership certificate/professional certificate and provisional certificate issued by the society or institute.

If any candidate is expected to complete any one of the qualifying degree in 2019 or later as given above then such candidate has to submit a certificate from Principal or a copy of marks card for section A of AMIE.

GATE- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an examination which opens the gateway to booming public organisations and in the field of research . GATE is an All-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee comprising of Faculty members from IISc, Bangalore and other seven IIT’s on behalf of the National Coordinating Board, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development.
The eligibility criteria of GATE 2019 was announced by IIT Madras along with the detailed information brochure and application form. All of the essential requirements and qualifications that the candidates will have to meet have been listed out in the GATE 2019 eligibility criteria. Candidates who met the required criteria were able to apply and could attempt the GATE examination. The criteria of M.Tech admissions through GATE scores will vary according to the institutes.(if you want to pursue M.Tech, you need to check the eligibilty criteria for that Institute as well.)

Certificate from Principal: Candidates who have to submit a certificate from their college Principal have to obtain one from his/her institution beforehand and upload the same during the online submission of the application form.
What is GATE Eligibility Certificate?It is a final year mark sheet/Certificate from HOD/Institute. The document should be a scanned copy of degree or provisional certificate in pdf format. The size should not exceed 300KB while uploading the document while filling GATE Application Form.
In case a candidate has not received the degree or provisional certificate from the university/institute then a Certificate from Principle (for use as the eligibility certificate only for final year or backlog candidates) can be uploaded. The minimum size of the eligibility certificate is 10KB.
The above mentioned are the eligibility criteria for applying GATE 2019 as mentioned by the official website.These must be mostly same for GATE 2020 also.But, however while applying, once re-check the eligibility and then apply.

Well I can assist u in this. See there is no age limitation for applying for GATE exam so u can apply for it without any hesitation but all the year backs must be cleared.
Most of the PSUs prefer the age duration of 25-28 so are no more older than this. If u are getting good score then that will create no problem in getting u good results through the GATE.
