With your All india rank of 19067 in general category you may not get a top NIT with core branch there. I will suggest you to go for NITs like NIT jaipur , allahabad etc. if you want a core branch. So in my point of view you should join the college.

With this rank you can expect some ofthe NIT's but Core branches will be difficult in top NIT's. You can get Mechanical in NIT Silchar or Metallurgy in NIT Rourkela.
