If you belong to GENERAL category, getting an NIT at an NTA score of 77 (77 percentile that you mentioned) is quite improbable.
You should expect a common rank list (CRL) of around 2,00,000 - 2,20,000 around at this score. You should look for good core branches in some private colleges if possible.
