Both are good branches and offer a lot of opportunities after completing your graduation.

Mechanical engineering gets a good placement number. There will less number of opportunities compared to other branches. As we see some cases like Mechanical engineers learn coding and come to software side jobs.

The computer science engineer can get jobs opportunities more. As the companies are choosing the candidates with more technical skills and the technology being increased more the opportunities for the CSE students will be high. The company needs the employees to be fast learners, catch up with the trending technologies, attentive, adaptable etc.

Mechanical Engineering:

Mechanical Engineering graduates can work in the automotive, aerospace, chemical, computer, communication, paper, power generation and almost all manufacturing industries. Mechanical engineers also work in maintenance and service profiles in all industries. Also they can choose teaching profession in universities and colleges.

Each branch has its own importance and future scope. Everything depends on your field of interest.Obviously Computer Science will be in high demand as digital era is going on. If you have to go for Government job then you should go for core branches but if you want to enter in private sector then you can go for top branches.

Some best colleges I suggest you are as follows :-

• Top priority should be any of the IITs.
• Then second priority should be NITs and other GFTIs.
• Some private colleges are also in great demand nowadays like BITS Pilani, VIT Vellore, SRM University, MIT Pune, etc.
