There are terms and conditions applied to be eligible to appear in JEE MAINS and JEE ADVANCED examinations . You can appear in JEE MAINs upto next two consecutive years of your 12th board passing year while Thou can appear in JEE ADVANCED examination upto the very next consecutive year of your 12th passing year . Yes,you can write jee mains paper but only as quilfiaction purpose for jee advance because diploma candidates are not offered admissions by NITs,CFTIs.
But you can get admission in IITs through jee advance if you secure good AIR.
