Sir.. my GATE score is 570...and I am interested to take up mtech in mechanical ..related discipline.. Will I get admission in NITs

Its a good score. You can easlily get admission in NITs even if you belong to unresrved category. If you are from OBC/SC/ST category you can get admission in few IITs and mostly all NITs for sure.

After the GATE result is declared, a centralized counselling i=for N.Tech is conducted known as CCMT. all the NITs take admission in ME/M.Tech courses through this counselling process only. Candidates who qualify GATE examination are required to apply for CCMT. They are then allowed to select colleges and courses of their choice ( this is known as choice filling). As per the GATE scores and subject to fullfillment of eligibility criteria, seats are alloted.

MT Cutoff of previous years enables us to know our chances in the next year M. Tech /M.Plan/M.Arch admission. It also gives us some idea about how much do we have to score in order to secure M. Tech seat on a particular college for a specified course. As it can be clearly seen from these cutoffs that South NIT’s are attracting more students with the good score than North NIT’s. Among South Institutions NIT Trichy and Warangal are dominating others whereas Among North Institutions NIT Allahabad is dominating others.

Therefore, there are enormous amount of possibility for you to get into a good NIT and get admission in M.tech related discipline subject t your marks. again as you have not specified your category, it depends on which one you belong to. but even if you do not want to take your category into consideration, you are still eligible for admission if you fill up the form ( CCMT). As GATE's result is valid for a period of three years, you would want to fill up CCMT form as soon as possible so that you can be called up for interview.

During first round of counselling you might face difficulty in getting desired top NITs, but in subsequent counsellings the AIR goes down to 700-900 which increses your chance to be called up for admission in Top NITs such as Waranagal/Trichy/ Surathkal.
