Sir/Madam, I got 9.5gpa in 10th, and 90.6 percentage in (11&12) intermediate. How much percentile should have get to get into any of the iim
Hi Satya,
Candidates who score 99 percentile or 100 percentile are likely to have more chances to make their way to the IIMs. However, what is important is to have a clear cut strategy for the Common Admission Test (CAT) as with the right planning you will be able to crack the exam with ease.
The first and foremost step to crack the exam is to begin your preparation for the exam on time which means that you should have adequate time to complete the syllabus thoroughly. After that, there should be sufficient time for you to revise the complete syllabus of CAT 2019 .
For every correct answer, candidates will be given three marks and if candidates do not answer any question, they will not get any marks for it.
As per last year, candidates could score 99 percentile as follows:
QA - net score of 70-75 (23-25 attempts out of 34)
DI & LR - net score of 65-70 (22-24 attempts out of 32)
VARC - net score of 55-60 (20-22 attempts out of 34)
Overall - net score of around 175
Hence, candidates can score 100 percentile if they are able to correctly answer 61-62 questions out of the 100 questions.

In order to know what how to score 100 percentile so that the candidates can get a call from the IIMs, candidates can check this link: How to score 100 percentile in CAT 2019
You have enough marks in 12th that will make you eligible for IIM's. But according to the IIM admission criteria 2019-21, candidates appearing for CAT 2018 must have a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50 per cent marks (for General category) and 45%(for SC, ST and PWD category) or equivalent CGPA from any recognised university.
As you see, marks in graduation are more important for admission in IIM and marks in CAT exam as well.
Good luck
Hello aspirant,
To get admission in IIM there are two selection procedure
One is to qualify CAT (common admission test) and next is WAT (Written ability test) and PI (personal interview). And you must have atleast 50% in intermediate which you already have. And for more information you can go through this link

Good Luck.
As you have mentioned that your in your 10th you have an aggregate of 9.5 gpa which means about 88% and in your 12th percentage you have 90.6% which indeed is very good... Well if you have scored less than 85% in high school and less than 90% in intermediate, then you might have to score atleast 99% in CAT exam.. But your 10th and 12th percentage is good, so you need not to score that high percentage.. But if you want to take admission in the top IIMs or top b schools then, you will have to score atleast 90+% in your CAT exam.. Which means you really need to work hard to achieve that percentage!!!!!!
Wish you all the best!!!!
I hope this would help you. For further queries please feel free to write me down in the comment box.
Hii satya
The cutoff for IIMs are really very high. For older IIMs like ahemdabad, etc.. you need to keep your percentile within 99.5. And other one you can get upto 99. If you can settle with any of the IIMs than 98 percentile will be enough to get any IIM seat.
Hope it helps
