Hi
To answer your question, it is important to note the different category of seats available in private medical colleges of Karnataka state with respect to the fees. There are four types of seats in the state which are-
- Government Quota seats - For this, a candidate should be a domicile of the state. 85% of the total seats in the government colleges, 40% of the total seats in KPCF colleges and 25% of the total seats in KRLMPCA colleges will fall under this category. The annual fees in government medical colleges will be approximately INR 16,700. For private colleges (KPCF and KRMPCA), the annual fees will be approximately INR 77,000.
- Private Quota seats - The seats available in private colleges (KPCF, KRLMPCA and AMPCK) colleges will come under this category.
- In KPCF colleges, 40% of the total seats come under private quota which is further divided between 30% for domicile candidates and 70% of the seats are open quota seats which means all the citizens of India are eligible under this category. The annual fees would be around INR 6,50,000.
- In KRLMPCA and AMPCK colleges, 55% of the seats will fall under private quota in which 66% of the seats will be filled by respective linguistic and religious minority candidates and the 34% of the seats are open for all the candidates who appeared and will qualify NEET 2018. The annual fees of KRLMPCA and AMPCK colleges will be similar to KPCF colleges.
- NRI Quota seats - 15% seats reserved for NRI candidates.
- Other Quota seats - These are 5% of the total in private colleges for which all the citizens of India are eligible. These seats are also known as management quota seats. The annual fees will be approximately 20,00,000 to 40,00,000.
The cutoff for each quota will be different. Therefore, it is advisable to check your cutoff and of course factors like your domicile and NEET score will play a very important role while applying for admission to a private medical college.
Hope it helps!
