The Indian Maritime University conducts all India online common entrance test known as Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET 2017). The university organizes the admission in undergraduate & postgraduate programmes in the field of Marine. It offers B.Sc, B.Tech, MBA and M.Tech in marine field offered by the main campus and its associated colleges.

IMU CET or Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test is an gateway for the all admissions to various UG and PG programmes of the IMU Campuses and its Affiliated Institutes.
IMU conducts two CETs, common to all UG programmes and common to the two MBA programmes respectively and yet another CET common to the two M.Tech programmes.
