The cut offs for JEE Mains are always calculated in terms of percentiles. Due to different shifts and multiple sessions, a proper normalization procedure is adopted so as to calculate scores in such a way that is fair to all and a comparative percentile is given. Percentile depends on difficulty levels, number of candidates.
