Then how we can be selected at main posts in army such as major or colonel?

To become a Major in the Indian Army or to become a officer in the Indian Defense Forces. There are many exams which through which you can join the Forces as an officer.

The exams are like NDA, UES, TES 10+2, TGC etc. First you have to give written exam after clearing the exam you'll be called up for SSB or Service Selection Board where you have to stay for 5 days and you'll be accessed on various officer like qualities. If you pass this you have to clear the Medicals. After this a Merit list will be announced which includes your score of all the tests like written and SSB. Once you get into Merit list you have to do training in different academy for different entry. After successful completion of your training you'll be comissioned as Lieutenant and after years of experience you'll be promoted to Major and further more.
