You can apply scientific and technological principles to research, design, construct, and test the performance of the civil and military weapons, aircraft and missiles. Maintenance of the same also comes under this job profile.
These engineers make use of Computer Software like Computer Aided Design (CAD) to develop the aircraft or related avionics. These branch also requires specialization in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering and similar fields.

This is an uprising feild in india. The current condition of this feild is not so great. But it is evident fact that many private companies like mahindra aerospace, into the feild will increase the job opportunities.
But the current condition in not so good even students from IIT find it difficult to get into core companies. But if you get into one you will get good salary.
I will suggest you to take mechanical engineering branch as aeronautical is a sub branch of mechanical engineering.
