The programme in Hotel Management is a professional course which enables you to enter the hotel and allied industry as a trained professional.

There is no absolute answer whether it is good or bad. The selection of this career should enitrely depend on your interest. The service industry is growing fast and it offers lucrative opportunities to trained potential in the domain.

For admission to top colleges including IIHMs, National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology conducts NCHMCT JEE in last week of April. The test is gateway to to the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality & Hotel Administration programmes in all IIHMs. NCHMCT is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India that runs and regulates academics for these professional courses that are offered at the affiliated 21 central institutes of hotel management, 19 state government institutes of hotel management, 14 private institutes of hotel management and 1 public sector undertaking. More than 8,000 seats are allotted across the NCHM JEE participating institutes on merit basis. B.Sc. programmes in hospitality and hotel administration are offered jointly by the NCHM and the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
