vacant seat in NLU requires which rank
Hello Dear Student,
For vacant seats in NLUs after CLAT counselling , there is usually no fixed rank requirement . Once the regular counselling rounds are completed, individual NLUs may fill remaining seats through their own vacancy admission process.
How vacancy admissions work:
- Interested candidates submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) or register directly with the NLU.
- The NLU prepares a merit list from the applicants who apply for the vacant seats.
- Selection is still based on CLAT rank, category, seat availability, and the number of applicants .
- Top NLUs rarely have many vacancies, while newer or mid-tier NLUs are more likely to conduct vacancy rounds.
Important points:
- There is no universal "minimum rank" for vacancy admissions.
- A higher CLAT rank always improves your chances.
- Reserved category candidates may secure seats at ranks higher than the General category cutoff, depending on available reserved seats.
- Each NLU publishes its own vacancy notification, eligibility conditions, and deadlines.
