It is versatile course in the engineering history,you can learn lot of things about plastic and rubber,the job opportunity also good compare to other departments,the only thing is you must know the what is plastic then you can succeed in the your career,as per my knowledge.

There are mainly two totally different scopes in this field:

1-Industry

2-research and development.

And there is a third approach too, i.e. a combination of above two…. which will be thebest scope.

As Polymer is an industrial course, there is a large potential for the polymer guys in industries and soon the polymers and plastics are going to conquer the world if the research incorporates the eco-friendly nature in polymers.

After studying polymer science , you can either secure a job in a polymer related company but the pay offered is considerably lesser. Masters can also be done , in India you can do MTech in IIT Kharagpur in Rubber technology or Material Science , in IIT Madras , you can try for material science or even in IIT Mumbai or Roorkee or Polymer science in Delhi. After Masters, Raw material manufacturing companies like SABIC can be approached ,such companies offer higher pay . Or you can continue research in IITs.
