what are the ways of doing B.tech (from Govt. college) after Diploma?
B.tech after diploma is quite popular these days. Students that have completed their diploma can get themselves into a B. Tech programme through lateral entrance examination or the engineering entrance examination.
If you take admission through lateral entry, then you will be directly admitted to the second year of the B. Tech programme.
This lateral entry to engineering colleges is done at state level. Seats are reserved in colleges for lateral entry. However you cannot get yourselves into IITs through lateral entry.
Your second option is to get yourselves in B tech through the engineering entrance exams that are conducted on state levels. You'll have tonappear for JEE examination. Through this you'll get admitted to first year unlike that of lateral entry.
It all depends on you what to pursure. Both ways are valid and both of them have their pros and cons.

see after completing your diploma engineering. you can apply for some states government entrance exam which gives students lateral entry (that means diploma certified students can take admission in btech in 2nd year of college, means from 3rd semester)
whereas you can apply for same scheme in private colleges also
you just have to show your diploma engineering completed certificates and your score/CGPA in per semester of Diploma.
The B. Tech lateral entry admission to various colleges is done on the basis of various state level lateral entry exams like AP ECET , TS ECET , UPSEE lateral entry, JELET , etc. Candidates who wish to take B. Tech lateral admission in government colleges need to appear for these lateral entry entrance examinations.
some students think taht lateral exam is so hard but it's not. Although, the syllabus is wide but not so typical if you have studied diploma engineering seriously then it will be easy to crack as normal basic questions come from electric, mechanical, computer science and electronics engineering.

As per AICTE (ALL India Council of Technical Education) guidelines, Students who have completed the Diploma are eligible for the B Tech course as well as students are also eligible for entry into the second year thus enabling students to complete their b tech in 3 year time frame..
