It is difficult to get IT in main campus with this rank. Information technology, being a computer science related branch, witnesses an increase in the cut off rank every year. In 2014, the cut off rank for IT used to be between 5 to 6 k in the initial rounds of counselling. Nowadays the cut off rank for IT in the very first round was around 4k.

You can try for branch Mechanical, Civil or Computer. It also depends on the cut-offs of this year. Although cut-offs of previous are more than your rank. Hope for Better! At the same time try applying for different colleges.
