Hello Kanishka,
The eligibility criteria for JEE Mains mentions that you are eligible to give the exams only if you have passed 12th in the same year or two year prior e.g. for JEE Mains 2019, you should have given the boards in 2019 or 2018.
You will be eligible to give the exam only if you pass the 12th board exam i.e. you should have cleared all subjects. So until you clear the compartment exam, you will not be eligible to give JEE Mains.

Respected Sir/Ma'am, whatever you've just answered me doesn't make any sense. Because, if it was so, then this year, JEE Mains(not Advance) was conducted two times(first on January and second on April) BEFORE the board examination results declaration. The official 12th CBSE boards results were declared on the month of May. So basically, not even a single student had got his/her results on the day he/she was filling the JEE Mains 2019 examination forms. And none of them knew whether they were going to pass or fail or gettin' a compartment in the 12th boards results. And also, this was not my question. My question was simple and clear that "What if a student gets compartment in one subject from PCM in class 12th, but have cleared the JEE Mains exam in good rankings?"
