Domicile state is the state where the candidate is having it's domicile means having his/her permanent residence. Suppose if you are living in Bhopal, MP then your domicile will be of Madhya Pradesh. According to your domicile state the state quota would be applicable on you for NITs, in JOSAA counselling.

In JEE domicile state means state in which you have passed your 12th.For example if you are from State A but you are pursuing 12th from State B then State B will become your domicile state.
