What is exactly meant by opening and closing cutoffs??
Hello,
For any entrance examination there is opening and closing cut offs are for the college that is taking admission through the test. And the candidate with the highest marks are opted for the college is called the openning cut off marks for that college. The minimum marks which got admitted with the college is actually the closing rank of that particular college.
Hope for the best.
Thank you.
Hey Aspirant, Opening and closing cutoffs are for the college that is taking admission through the test. What I mean to say is : Let X be any college that is taking admision for a program through any exam, then that college has a cutoff marks in that exam, if you score above that cutoff marks then you are eligible to take admisssion in that particular college. that marks is the cutoff marks of the college.
Now lets assume that there is a candidate with marks 80% took admission in that college and the last student who took admission has a rank of 20%.
So the opening cutoff marks of that college will be 80% marks and the closing cutoff marks will be 20%.
I hope this helps to you , thank you and all the best !!!
