Both the exams are conducted by upsc.IAS stands for Indian Administrative Forces and IES stands for Indian Engineering Services.IAS officers are employed in the administrative sector of government but IES officials deals with the technical works of government. The basic eligibility to apply for IES is to have a graduation in engineering. BTech graduates who are in their last year of BTech can also apply for these posts.
