There is so such thing as toughest as long as you are really into one particular interest thet you want to do but though Electrical engineering is “considered” to be the toughest branch in engineering. Some students find it difficult to mug up things they find ECE a difficult one. CSE is considered comparatively easy.this is the experience of people but still u will never know for yourself until and unless you are willing to do what motivates your interest.

The Core branches are said to be the toughest, i.e. Civil, Mechanical and Electrical but others like ECE and CSE is not easy though
It all depends on the branch and the student. Someone who is passionate about engineering and got the branch he/she always wanted to be in(by passion, not running after placements) will not be tough for them, but someone who choose a branch just for placements/ to get a job, they will find difficulties going through it.
