what is the maximum rank to get chance in any NIT ?
Hello,
Each NIT has it's own cut off and cut off changes across the category and branch so it is not possible to indicate one single rank. For example in 2019 a candidate with last rank 25825 belonging to general category secured seat in Chemical Engineering in NIT, Bhopal and a candidate with rank 8914 belonging to OBC category secured seat in the same. You can see the change in the cut off rank for these two categories similarly a candidate with rank 23362 belonging to general category secured seat in NIT, Calicut in Chemical Engineering. You can see that the cut off changed for NIT, Calicut for the same branch. Cut off depends on various factors like number of candidates qualified, difficulty of exam and number of seats available etc. You can use the link below to check the cut off in 2019 for NITs

You need to score minimum 180-200 marks if you belong to general category to have decent chances of getting seat in a NIT. For candidates belonging to OBC-NCL need to score minimum 120-150 marks and for SC/ST the minimum marks to be score is in between 90-110. This is an estimation based on previous year trends.
