Though it would be easier for me to answer if you had used simpler way to explain tdg.
Still, regarding branch sliding it depends on nit to nit.
Some conducts an interview along with considering your GPA (or CPI). Also it depends on the avaibility of the seats at that particular branch.
But taking rough estimation, for changing branch to
EC it requires atleast 8.5
CSE it can go upto - 9.2 or above
