what is the syllabus for nimhams ug exam?when will the registration start? what are the ug courses under nimhans?
Dear Aspirant,
Hope you are doing great,
As you want to know about the NIMHAMS exam, NIMHANS holds an online MCQ-based entrance exam for Post MBBS direct Mch/DM neurology and MD Psychiatry courses. It holds a single exam for all of these courses and then publishes a separate merit list for each one. You must choose a course when applying, and you cannot change your mind later. You can apply for all three or just one or two of them. It is a two-hour test with 150 multiple-choice questions with negative marking. Around 90-100 questions from 19 MBBS subjects unrelated to CNS are asked, which can be answered if one has prepared well for other PGMEEs. The level of difficulty is not high.
There are courses like DM in Neurology and MD in Psychiatry, there is also a direct entry MCh in Neurosurgery after MBBS. PhD programmes are also available. You are eligible to apply for a PhD in Neuroscience. If you are interested, you can also apply for other PhD programmes at NIMHANS, such as Neuromicrobiology, Neurovirology, Neurophysiology, Neuropathology, Neurology, Psychiatry, and so on.
For information about NIMHAMS:
I hope this will help you,
Best of Luck :)
