Karanataka state has 4 State Agricultural Universities at Bangalore, Dharwad, Raichur and Shimoga. University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore has been adjudged as the Best Agricultural University in the country with the SARDAR PATEL OUTSTANDING ICAR INSTITUTION AWARD 2012. There are no ICAR recognised private colleges in Karnataka.

Admission Procedure:
Admission to BSc. Agriculture course in Karnataka is based on the performance in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The academic qualification required is a pass in 10+2 Science with PCB combination (50% PUC Marks + 50% CET Marks). There is a 23.8% reservation for actual cultivators / children of the farming family through a practical test. The candidates who desire to get admission to BSc Agriculture have to compulsorily attend CET and admission will be done only through KEA. There is no separate admission process by the Universities.

There are total 1125 seats for BSc (Agriculture) course in all the 4 agricultural universties at their 11 constituent colleges.
