I understand that you have either completed or going to complete your class XII examination and wish to become an IAS officer in your latter part of career and so to answer your question firstly you need to brush up on your vocational and language skills a lot and also need to start preparing subjects like History, Civics, Polity, Geography, Indian Economy, Science and Technology, International Relations. etc as they all come under the subject of General Studies. Also you need to develop immense knowledge on current affairs. You can even take the help of online domains for your preparation or get yourself enrolled into some coaching center who have their expertise in this particular field.

First of all you need to decide the course which you want to opt for graduation because you can't appear in the UPSC exam without a graduation degree. Get admitted for that course only which would help you in your preparation and would not become a hurdle for you , your preparation should not stop or get harmed because of it. It is better if you opt for B.A. in subjects like History, Public Administration etc as they would help you in your preparation. Further you can join some coaching which would help you motivate and prepare for your goal. All the best!
