What should I go for as a career, BAMS or BPT?

Dear Faraz, both BAMS and BPT hold their own forts in tje matter of future prospects. BAMS gives you indepth knowledge of modern medicine and traditional Ayurveda. Ayurveda is one of the ancient medicinal systems. Inspite of the technologically biased world that we live in, Ayurveda has not lost its sheen. Infact, its popularity has grown over the years with people preferring age old cures for illnesses and ailments. With such broad exposure a career in BAMS is fruitful both in India and in foreign countries. You can have your own practise or you can join Government Sector. You can have opportunities in IT sector as well for Health Care projects.

Physiotherapy unlike popular misconception is not just massage and exercising. It is one of the effective professions that mostly concentrates on movement dysfunction caused due to various reasons. They are not 'somewhat doctors'. Infact they are Doctors. Its one of the fastest growing sectors in India. You can have your own practise or work being associated with a hospital. With sports taking the centre stage in India, physiotherapists have a huge demand.

Finally, this is your career and your life. Your choices should be based on what you want. So please think twice and tjen take a call.

BAMS is better than BPT. BPT are actually not doctors, but some kind of helpers for Orthopedic doctors. BAMS are doctors, having background in Ayurveda (alternative ancient Indian medicine).
