You can join in some job.
After joining the job , you have two options.
You can after 2 or 3 years , write EET & get selected to join a 3 year B.tech course.
Alternately , you can write AMIE exams .
If you pass AMIE , it is considered equivalent to B.tech even by UPSC
& you will get a B.tech degree & your employment opportunities will become better.
The choice is all yours you can also do B.tech if you wish to do it .
Now as you have completed your diploma, the question arises in mind that what to do next. let me assume you are doing well in your diploma in mechanical and after completeing your 2nd year you should try looking for the opportunity to get into the colleges who provides Diploma to degree, colleges like LDRP, NIRMA , PDPU, INDUS ect.

After completing your diploma in mechanical engineering you can decide whether you want to go for further study or you want to do job.
If you want to go for further studies you can do short term courses for 6 months, 1 year or 2 year or you can also go for B.E/B.TEch course.
For job you can work as a junior level post in both private and government companies. You can also try for railways.
If you are interested you can sit for entrance exams for RBI and SBI.
It totally depends on your interest and skill what you choose to do as it is very important to build your career.
